LCEF partners with you as you embark on a three+ year journey of ministry expansion, building and stewardship. Each process is unique, but the result is the same: your ministry is joyfully and effectively fulfilling its purpose within the Kingdom.
We utilize a campaign process called Immeasurably More, based on the words of Ephesians 3:20-21:
“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
It is the conviction of LCEF that God provides results that cannot be fully quantified. While there may be a specific dollar amount a campaign is intended to raise, a process that is surrendered to God and seeks to honor Him and His people will create a return that brings value to His Kingdom in ways known only to the Holy Spirit. The “immeasurably more” result may be financial; it may also be within the spiritual realm which “eye cannot see.”
We have been guiding organizations through capital campaigns for almost 30 years. We’ve learned a lot over the decades and have come to operate under some clear critical theories:
Imagine Design and Prep Campaign
This initial phase of the campaign is for planning and prep. It involves gathering and training the campaign leadership team, establishing a clear and concise case, developing FAQs, mapping out the entire campaign and creating materials and media that will be used. During this phase, your consultant and other LCEF Ministry Support Team members will engage with your campaign leadership team and support the decisions made.
Private Invite Lead Gifts and Private Supporter Events
The Private Invite Phase begins with the procurement of lead gifts and connections with special supporters. Your consultant guides this critical part of the process as you curate a major donor list and determine how each donor should be invited to participate and assists in calling/engaging with those donors. This phase culminates with an Initial Commitment Event designed to bring lead donors together to make early commitments to the campaign.
Public Invite Public Launch of the Campaign
Armed with initial commitments, the campaign launches publicly with momentum. This portion of the campaign connects with donors who have not been contacted as lead givers, with partner churches and members and with the organization’s constituents/alumni. Events are designed during the Imagine Phase to gather and connect these various groups with your ministries and the campaign.
Impact Giving Begins, Various Events, Final Celebration
Three years of fulfillment begin with “First Gifts” where supporters begin their regular giving. Throughout these years we design periodic events and special communications to re-ignite the excitement of the campaign and remind one another what God is doing in our midst through your ministry.

As a consultant for Capital Funding Services (CFS), Randy enjoys assisting the Lord’s people in experiencing the joys of generosity. He is a firm believer in the Scriptural truth that “whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully” (2 Corinthians 9:6). He says, “Stewardship is simply reflecting the image of our generous God, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing.” His leadership has encouraged his congregation to provide generous support for ministries locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
Randy has been a parish pastor for 35 years. For the past 28 years, he has been serving First Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Leading a large congregation has enabled him to experience six capital campaigns, allowing him to provide great insights to pastors in capital campaigns and stewardship.
Randy has served Concordia University Wisconsin as an adjunct professor of theology for 26 years. In 2010, the university awarded him the honor of “Distinguished Alumnus.” He has also served 12 years on the South Wisconsin District Board of Directors, including six years as Board Chair and First Vice President of the district. He conducts seminars on generosity and provides encounters for parish pastors to discuss cultural issues and the church’s impact.
Randy resides in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, with his wife, Diana, who is the South Wisconsin District’s Lutheran Church Extension Fund’s District Vice President. They have two married daughters and three granddaughters. Randy’s mission statement is to serve God by serving others.
