Thomas Campbell
Senior Vice President, Real Estate Solutions
Thomas is the SVP leading LCEF’s Real Estate Solutions Department since 2022. Previously, he was Vice President of Real Estate at AbleLight, Inc., where he led a team to manage a national portfolio and launch a housing initiative that incorporated people with disabilities. He spent most of his 30-year commercial real estate career as a principal at Campbell Corporation where he led the real estate development, construction and property management of a diverse portfolio, including multifamily, senior housing, and hotels. He has consulted on numerous projects worldwide for publicly traded companies and completed real estate developments valued at hundreds of millions of dollars using financial incentive tools like Tax Increment Financing, tax-exempt bonds, city, county, state and Federal incentives such as Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, etc. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and has been a licensed real estate broker since 1989.
Andy Hesterman
Senior Director, Real Estate
Andy joined LCEF in May 2023 and has over 12 years of experience in architecture, serving clients across various target markets. He is passionate about urban design and community-based projects, where he led teams to create comprehensive and efficient real estate solutions through intentional design. Andy has earned his experience through various real estate projects working for architecture firms in the Indiana market. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Ball State University’s College of Architecture and Planning and is pursuing architectural licensure.
Josh Rhee
Senior Director, Real Estate
Josh joined Lutheran Church Extension Fund in 2023 as part of the Real Estate Solutions team. With over 12 years of experience in Southern California’s commercial real estate market, he began his career as a broker specializing in multifamily properties and infill development sites. Passionate about repurposing real estate to address housing shortages, particularly in California, Josh brings a consultative approach while expanding his expertise. He holds a bachelor’s in economics from the University of California, Irvine, a Certificate in Real Estate Finance from the University of San Diego and holds a Real Estate Broker’s License.
Jonathan Ward
Senior Director, Real Estate
Jonathan joined LCEF in 2023 as a real estate development professional with nearly 25 years of experience across public, private, and nonprofit sectors. He has closed over $250 million in new development financing, specializing in urban redevelopment and alternative financing methods, including Historic, New Market, and Low-Income Housing Tax Credits. Jonathan holds a master’s in public policy and management from Carnegie Mellon University and a bachelor’s in public administration from Grand Valley State University. He studied city planning in Barcelona, Spain, and was a Lauble Fellow in Community & Economic Development in Pittsburgh.
Dorothy Geisz
Administrative Assistant
Dorothy brings seven years of experience supporting teams, including four years with a Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod congregation and three years in the non-profit sector. She has worked extensively on developing and supporting cross-functional teams and is now focused on streamlining processes and providing project management support to the Real Estate Solutions team.
