Since its founding in 1840, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Concordia has considered the education of children as one of its most important responsibilities in ministry. A new school addition is currently under construction, with the assistance of an LCEF loan. The two story addition, scheduled for completion in Fall 2008, will house grades K-3, as well as school offices and a first aid room. The second floor will be available for future expansion. LCEF is privileged to partner with congregations such as St. Paul, Concordia who continue to expand ministry - to children and families.

Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Acton, Mass., has a new 7,100-square-foot preschool building and newly renovated parish hall and offices. The expansion and renovations are the first major changes to Mt. Calvary’s physical plant in approximately 25 years. But whenever this congregation needed loan funds for repairs or a new organ, it turned to LCEF. Now members of Mount Calvary can better serve their community and seek to walk with others in becoming disciples of Jesus Christ.

John and Mary Durkin like to help and educate others. The parents of two young children, John serves as Director of Christian Education (DCE) at St. John Lutheran Church, Indianapolis, Ind., and Mary is a part-time kindergarten teacher at Emmaus Lutheran Church, also in Indianapolis.
