How does one Lutheran school draw a record enrollment in a community nationally known for poverty and crime?
“A mission field close to home, in our own backyard” is how Paul Miller, development director, describes Unity Lutheran Christian Elementary School in East St. Louis, Illinois. The school is a longtime LCEF ministry partner.
Started nearly 13 years ago with three students, the school’s enrollment now nears 200. It’s working because at Unity, Miller says, “everything is about Jesus.”
